Thomas Norris, referred to as T.L., is a guest character on Paramount+'s Landman. He is portrayed by Sam Elliott. T.L. is Tommy Norris' father.
Biography[]
Season 2[]
T.L. is Tommy's father and he lives in a care home. He finds out that his wife "took her afternoon nap and just didn't wake up", to which he responds that he will see her in Hell.
At the funeral, he is unable to speak when prompted, emotionally frozen by unresolved grief. He later admits that he wasted years hoping Dottie would return to the loving woman he first fell in love with instead of accepting who she had become. Angela decides to bring him into their home.
The Pirate Dinner[]
T.L., newly living with Tommy, struggles with displacement, boredom, and aging but slowly reconnects with life through small interactions. He bonds with Angela and Ainsley, reminisces about his past, and forms an unexpected connection with Shelby through casual conversation. Over the phone, he listens as Tommy unloads the emotional weight of the day. By the pirate dinner, T.L. appears more integrated into the family.
